China Oct Pulp Imports 1.07M Tons; Jan-Oct Imports +42% On Yr

BEIJING -- China imported in October 1.07 million metric tons of pulp, the General Administration of Customs said Wednesday.

In the first 10 months of the year, imports rose 42% from the January-October period last year to 11.71 million tons, it said.

In October alone, the country also imported 10,000 cubic meters of plywood and 270,000 tons of paper and paper board, it said.

In the first 10 months, plywood imports fell 44% to 120,000 cubic meters while paper and paper board imports were down 11% to 2.72 million tons, the data showed.
